WHAT'S this? You try to ask your health insurance office a question and you get arrested — while on your cell phone to their customer service? Only in America? Or maybe also in Communist China, the right wing's favorite "market economy"?
The man in question was asked to leave the PRIVATE premises. He was not on public property. He refused the request of the business, AND the request of the police.
What did he expect to happen?
Of course he wanted to make a point, which is why he went to the data center rather than picking up the phone.
Dumb to arrest him (though these days I don't expect much intelligence from corporations), but equally dumb to go to a non-headquarters office and demand answers while standing on private property.
Heck he should have gone with his friends and picketed on the public sidewalk in front of the office. Of course that wouldn't have gotten the kind of solid gold press his arrest did...
Call me cynical, but while I condemn Anthem, I also look askance at the tactics of the arrested gentleman.
.. grew up on the family farm, received a degree from the University of Illinois, worked a summer in Montana, spent more than three years in the U.S. Army, more than three years working on an English-language newspaper in Tokyo, a year with the Voice of America, and then re-joined the local newspaper where I earlier met my wife, Janet. Retired in 2001 and now enjoy doing encaustics, collage, and cold wax and oil.
While this is disheartening, let's be fair:

No innocents in this picture.
